M/I/S/C/ is a quarterly magazine about business innovation and design thinking. It is distributed in over 28 countries around the world.
M/I/S/C/ is organized around four key concepts: Movement / Intuition / Structure / Complexity. Its purpose is to explore and identify new creative territories and new ways of thinking about art, design, strategic innovation, social innovation, behavioral economics and beyond.
Ideas are moving through time and space faster than ever before. Sparked by inspiration, shaped by the social, in and out of various channels, and consumed through multiple cultural lenses, they are - as always - changing how we think, behave, consider and create our world. M/I/S/C/ tracks ideas as they evolve and travel between networks.
Intuition is how we understand the world and our place in it through the measure of past experience. It is both a sense and a sense-making tool. It is a skill that can be applied in science, philosophy, math, art and design. When faced with insufficient information, it is what design thinkers draw on to make difficult decisions. M/I/S/C features those design thinkers and the experiences they've drawn on to make ideas and innovations come to life.
Once unyielding organizational principles of power, authority and legitimacy have yielded. The structures and structuring of society are becoming more receptive, reflective and participative. There has never been a better time to reconsider and rebuild structures in business, governance and human connectivity. M/I/S/C examines next generation structures being aligned to the needs of people.
History shows us that kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall. Markets tell us that so do brands and businesses. Sometimes, the culprit behind decline is complexity. By looking at the dynamics of systems and the fragmentation of contexts in which narratives of flexibility and fluidity escape linear confines, leaders are designing ideas that seem surprisingly simple. M/I/S/C celebrates the processes, practices and people that are making tomorrow more clear, less cluttered.
